The term "This Period" in the backlog report denotes the current number of cases in the backlog for the chosen timeline, while "Previous Period" signifies the number of cases in the backlog for the no of days pervious to the chosen timeline. Opting for the calendar feature will display a comprehensive list of cases from both "This Period and Previous Period," encompassing all cases that were in the backlog for the chosen and previous timeline.
The backlog is not based on the case creation date but instead on the case status. If a case was open in the selected time frame, it will be shown in the selected period.
For example, if a case was created on April 12, 2023, but it is still open as of July 26, 2023. The case status was open from April to July. Therefore, the case will be shown in the list if you select the date range from May 1 to July 21, 2023.
